Nineteenth of March 2020. When you first heard of the Bali “stay at home” / #dirumahaja regulation what went through your head?
When I first heard about “stay at home” regulation, to be honest I was so worried about how we’re going to run the businesses in Bali, especially in Bali Mandira & Azul Beach Club, as the resort is much like an extended family to me. But yea the whole world was impacted so we all face similar situations.
What was your company’s reaction to this regulation?
I’m so grateful to be part of Bali Mandira Beach Resort & Spa family, since the pandemic hit, all of us here keep encouraging each other to be creative, stay positive, to go beyond the limit, think outside the box, and make initiative projects and programs like never before to be able to attract the current market and sustain our business.
How long have you been working for the company?
I’ve been working at Bali Mandira Beach Resort & Spa and Azul Beach Club for 2 years.
What backup measures did you start putting in place when the writing was on the wall?
(Covid 19 regulations were extended). Just keep the spirit and positivity. And also never give up on trying something out of the box and out of the norm. Always seek for opportunity and see what we could do to survive during the situation. and trying to remember that we are all in this together.
What was your mental state and how did you move forward into a more positive attitude?
Focus on self motivation and doing what you can to help others. I always believe that there’s always light at the end of the tunnel.
Finally, what are you doing now?
Ever since the pandemic situation me and Bali Mandira Beach Resort & Spa family have been making events that focus on helping the small local businesses and communities. Such as; FRIDAY SUNSET MARKET, a once a month fun-filled evening by the sea where we invite the small local businesses that have been affected by the pandemic to sell and promote their products at our resort. ART CHARITY EXHIBITION, an event designed to spread optimism for the people in Bali in the new normal era through art & culture and to empower the local artists community in Bali by providing them a platform and also giving them an encouragement to keep creating and making art, even during this current challenging time. We plan to have many more exciting events, please do follow our social media @balimandira & @azulbeachclub for our event updates.
Definitely let us know if we can support you and we very much hope to catch up all together at some point soon. Until then, we salute your perseverance and strength!
