Blue Karma Group is pleased to announce its first Photo Contest that will be launched on 22^th October 2020, running until 04^th December 2020 and welcomes professional and amateur photographers from Indonesia and all over the world to participate. Participation is free.

The Theme & Objective 
The Theme of the photo contest is “The Sacred Spirit of Bali” with the objective of promoting Bali, inviting anyone to participate who has a story to tell about Bali through their photography and to acknowledge both amateur and professional photographers.

Bali, a special vortex where the elements of nature, tree or river, where a smile of a child or the wrinkles of labor, let the soul of all being express its divine. Who hasn’t dreamt to come or come back to the island of Gods to feel this special connection we have lost living busy lives in our material world?

Get inspired by the fantastic resilience of the Balinese, who have captured from crisis the wisdom to overcome with creativity. Participating as a voter will keep the feeling of connection going. Buying a piece of Art will support Dignity, Environment and Hope.

Let’s share beautiful captured moments or wander through the eyes of the artists while travelling is still complicated. More than ever I invite you to join us in this photo contest, waking up this mysterious feeling, connecting to the Sacred and nourishing it again.

Prizes
First Honour: Thirty six (36) photos with the highest points, voted on by the public, will be featured in an art book “The Sacred Spirit of Bali” with the profile of each artist on their photo.

Personal Award: After the 36 pictures have been selected, a jury of 5 people will choose 3 pictures which will be entitled to additional prizes

• 1^st Place  : Get a special 3 nights stay at Blue Karma, choice of Blue Karma Ubud or Blue Karma Seminyak +  a voucher of 1,000,000 IDR to be redeemed at Pondok Lensa, a shop located in Bali dedicated to photo and video gear rental + a copy of the photo contest art book “The Sacred Spirit of Bali
• 2^nd Place  : Get a voucher of 1,000,000 IDR to be redeemed at Pondok Lensa + the photography book of David Metcalf + a copy of the photo contest art book “The Sacred Spirit of Bali”
• 3^rd Place   : Get a voucher of 500.000 IDR to be redeemed at Pondok Lensa + copy of the photo contest art book “The Sacred Spirit of Bali”.

Join in supporting great causes
Through entering a photo in the contest, photographers are also helping raise money for two Bali based foundations. We are grateful to all participants who will donate their favorite Bali photo to help generate funds that will go directly to these two causes. During the contest until the 28^th of February, you can download preferred images at a small amount of USD$5. Pictures can also be ordered on good quality paper for USD$30 (40×60) and USD$40 (60×90). And an Art book with the 36 pictures selected by the public will be created and sold for USD$50 as stock is available. All profits from this photo contest will go to two great causes; “SOLEMEN”, a non-profit foundation with the mission to support the disadvantaged in Bali, Indonesia and to “PLASTIC EXCHANGE BALI” a project run to Empower Balinese people to prosper through a barter program that provides sustenance in exchange for collecting plastic waste.
