A perennial favourite of The Yak’s, The Apurva Kempinski is putting out a generous call to all of us here on the island. Knowing that times are tough, and for some, income has definitely dipped, they are opening their doors, pool and cabanas with a “No minimum charge; No day-pass fees” offer!!
Just thinking of their 42-metre infinity pool with individual cabanas with surround sound or sun-loungers right on the beach makes you want to get in the car straight away. And with just a glance at the watersports activities menu you’ll be signing up for something water-bound. Our preferred menu is of course the wine list! With over 30 selections of rosé wine, you’d be hard pushed not to find one you like (or a few even). The food is of course fabulous too, a charcoal grill by the sea, or choose the barbecue, or rotisserie – spoilt we are indeed. Select a number of eclectic cocktails and if you still find yourself at the Reef Club at dusk they’ll even light you a bonfire, and put on some live entertainment. It is an all-day-play getaway!
If evenings are more your thing, The Apurva team step up their game with a week’s worth of crafted dining experiences, aptly called ‘Reef Rendez-vous’. Mondays are for ‘Lobster Lovers’, Tuesdays give a shout out for ‘Ribs and More’. ‘Skewers All Ways’ – all by the ocean of course – are Wednesday’s offering, with ‘Crustacean Reef Style’ hitting up the Thursday crew.
‘The Mediterranean Affair’ is ‘oh so Fridays’, with Saturday exploring the best of ‘Jimbaran Style in Sawangan – featuring freshly caught snapper, white prawn, blue crab, lobster and more. On Sundays we see a uniquely South Asian flavor, with ‘Tandoor by Bopanna’. Luckily the daily DJ and live entertainment is there for you whichever evening you choose.
As Executive Chef Eric Cocollos mentions, “This beach club is another affirmation on how versatile experiences at The Apurva Kempinski can be…”. Indeed Chef Eric, hats off to you and the team for creating amazing beach club experiences amongst many other Kempinski moments…
