Get Ready for Bali’s 2nd “Day of Balance” or Hari Poleng! On Saturday 21st of January islandwide.

bali poleng

Bali’s black and white checkered cloth called “Poleng” symbolizes ‘Balance’. The Balinese place it on or around energy points to avoid ‘overflow’, like between two joining rivers, junctions, big rocks and big trees; and it is also worn by the Pecalang (traditional guards/guards of tradition) and Kecak dancers (trance dancers).

The idea of “Poleng Day” is to remind us, and the World, that we all need Balance in order to live well.
Having been promoted across Bali throughout the year in temples (Pura) and in palaces (Puri), all the priests and kings of Bali are behind this project to balance Bali and the world.
So do take part, join us in balancing Bali. On Saturday January 21st 2023, please ‘dress’ your bike, car, or yourself with a piece of Poleng cloth, which will be Bali’s 2nd Poleng Day; the last one being on January 2nd 2022.
Should you know of anyone who has a restaurant, bar, or hotel, please also tell them to decorate their venue with Poleng cloth on this day. Let’s Balance Together!
Happy Poleng Day!
