If you’ve ever been travelling in Portugal, you probably know that three main things can be found in any random village: a café, a pharmacy, and a padaria. A padaria is a bakery and Pão (the word for “bread” in Portuguese) is as essential to the locals as rice is for Asians.
In Portugal, bread is a ritual, almost a religion: people buy fresh bread every day, and there’s always a basket of bread on the table at every meal.
