Across the vast expanse of Plataran Canggu, 2022 saw the 1.0 and 2.0 of the original Jia Curated Kiosks (JCK).

This themed, three-day festival of interiors, accessories, art and food brought together the greater community in an expectant festive spirit.

Moreover this event showcased the superbly elegant JIA PAVILION. This modular and pre-fabricated Pavilion, tailor-designed by DDAP Architect, showcased the passions of several companies. Roofing, flooring, lighting, furniture, bedding, fabrics and textiles, operable partitions and blinds, ceramics, art, even design-led speakers – it was an ‘immersive home experience’ with an eclectic selection of furniture and bric-a-brac, that united and blended seamlessly, under the experienced, design-led taste of Jia by OCK.

Casting their net wide, they brought in a hand-picked selection of ideators, creators and manufacturers across the Interiors field. Mixed-media and multi disciplinary artists displayed their works of art on the partitions. Interior designers focusing on commercial and living spaces, decorated the show space with their wares. Modern-living items, inspired by Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage shared the breezy pavilion layout. Leading technology companies such as Sandei (PT Sandimas Intimitra – who manufacture leading moveable partitions and blinds) and Aerobu Custom Cushions, who’s focus is on long-lasting, outdoor cushion and furniture cover production, (greatly aided by the technology-forward Agora fabric made in Barcelona), brought impressive innovation and shelf-life to items we use so regularly here in Bali.

So between technology and craft, innovation and culture, what each of the participants have in common is DESIGN! They all beautifully shared and complimented each other in that immaculately-built, knock down pavilion, brilliantly designed by DDAP Architects based in Ubud, which was beautifully floored by Kayu Lapis Indonesia (KLI is an integrated wood company with a commitment to nature, quality and society).

This JCK event (by Jia by OCK) is developing beautifully – organically, holistically, culturally and collaboratively. Having celebrated JCK01 and recently JCK02, we are very much looking forward to JCK03 in 2023.

Congratulations to Budiman Ong, Rudi Winata, Yang Yang Hartono and Jia by OCK for ideating these inspirational events, and we look forward to the next ones, next year.
