This Ikat is dyed by a dedicated group of traditional weavers from the To Mangki Karataun ethnic group in remote West Sulawesi. Each unique piece is crafted by a single woman and uses Indigofera leaves for the indigo blue, Morinda roots for the red tones and mud dye for the black. Joseph Recycling
CHARITY & RECYCLING: Did you know that 4.3 million children in Indonesia, between the ages of 7 and 18 years old, are not in school? Joseph Wijaya, aged 10, started his own plastic recycling concern and by selling the plastic he collects he is single-handedly (with community help) putting children through school. By collecting bottle tops, that he then up-cycles into key rings and other products, he collects money to pay for education. Currently paying for 6 children, his goal is to put another 20 children through school by the end of 2023. To help, follow his IG account and see how you and yours can help!
